The smell is very subtle. The consistency is creamy and not sticky.A little dab goes a long way. Now, I don't follow the instructions (use 20 minutes before showering).I use it as 'gel' and I haven't had any problems and it's even much better than gel or other oils I've used. I'm extremely happy with this product.
